Bat Testing Facility in Elite OC

One of the added benefits of shopping @ Elite OC is the ability to test certain bats in our CAGE. We had a father/daughter team come in today to try out a fast pitch bat. I fearlessly joined them in the cage to take photos knowing that I could be hit by a rogue ball. I really hate balls coming towards my face…

Lucky for me, Lil’ Miss Hitter made contact for each swing and kept them big balls away from me.

Then her dad barked out some code…”Hut 22,44, 75 Tango, PAPA, ZULU,” and that’s when Lil’ Miss Hitter switched to do some left handed swinging. WHACK! WHACK! WHACK, was all I heard as she took some cuts on that Easton Fast Pitch Bat.

I bet you didn’t know that there are a few softball related movies. Here’s a few of my favorites.

Can’t convince the wife to let you buy a new bat?

When you tell your wife that you want to get a new slow pitch softball bat, does she do this…

Aye, I feel for you brother. But there are ways to get from that, to this. Just look at how Michelle is so proud of Obama.

Anyhow, here’s a few tips on how to convince your wife that you need to add another bat to your current collection of 12.

1. If you get to spend money, so should your wife. Typical rule is, if you budget $300 for a bat, then your wife should get $300 to spend on anything she wants. It’s sorta like bribery but in an underhanded way.

2. Smooth talk her. I’m sure before you two got married, you were quite the smooth talker. If you can’t recall some of the things you used to say, here’s a few that you can borrow from me.
-”wow hun, you look awesome!”
-”Have you been working out? Your (fill in the blank) looks great!
-”Did you lose 10lb or something? You look super skinny, you should eat something!” (this one ALWAYS works!)

3. If none of those have worked, sit your wife down and have a serious conversation. Tell her that softball makes you extremely happy. It allows you to relax, de-stress from a long day and it allows you to get some exercise. Here are some points to bring up on the benefits of softball.
-Meet new friends
-Wear cool uniforms (women dig a man in uniform)
-Helps you get stronger (swinging a 28oz bat is no easy task)

Once you tell her the benefits, then let her know that having a new bat will only enhance your softball experience and allow you to become a better player. In fact, this new slow pitch softball bat could even help you progress towards a career in professional softball. Yup, it could happen. Then when all that happens, you can turn to your wife and say…”Hunny thanks for letting me get that bat that I NEEDED, you’re the best!” See, it will all work out, just follow my suggestions and you’ll be fine.

If all else fails, just sell something you don’t use or need anymore, look in your closet or garage and get rid of those golf clubs, old exercise bike, weights, workout machine and etc. With the money you make from the sale, you can order your new bat!

Some say they don’t exist, other say they do. The ones that believe these bats are real, are the ones that have said that these bats can help you hit 450ft…

Most of the bats in this world are “right handed” bats. What do I mean by that? Just look at the following bats. The knob is to the left and the label reads to the right.

You see, what I’m looking for is the rare left handed bat. These bats will have the knob to the right, then the the label will read left to right. This won’t work if all you do is flip a right handed bat, if you do, then you’ll see that the label will be upside down and facing the other way.
